Membership

Annual Conference: SHAPE Idaho hosts an annual conference for health, physical education professionals. This two-day conference is a member’s opportunity to meet  other members & keynote speaker, connect with vendors, and attend  sessions/present on applicable research/lessons.   

Think Tank: SHAPE Idaho periodically hosts an in-person collaborative “think-tank” session where health and PE professionals share their successful lessons & activities. Participation in this session may include complementary SHAPE Idaho Membership costs.  

Webinars: SHAPE Idaho periodically hosts virtual webinar sessions where members can learn how to write grants, advocate for their program, etc. 

Board Membership: SHAPE Idaho members have the opportunity to serve on the SHAPE Idaho Board in various positions learning the inner workings of a non-profit organization and meeting service requirements. 

Fundraising: SHAPE Idaho supports SHAPE America’s Health Moves Minds powered by Booster fundraiser. SHAPE America states, “This is more than just another fundraiser — SHAPE America and Booster make it a whole experience! Grants: SHAPE Idaho provides annual grants for its members to enhance their programs or professional careers. These grants can be awarded to educators for things like new equipment, software, or travel to professional conferences & events. These grants are awarded up to $500 and can be applied for under the "Resources" tab.

Liability Insurance:  SHAPE Idaho provides liability insurance through SAM (The Society of Association Management). Each SHAPE Idaho member receives liability insurance with the cost of their membership that covers the member up to $1 Million. Partnerships:  SHAPE Idaho is an affiliate of SHAPE America and a part of SHAPE Western District. This partnership brings SHAPE Idaho members first hand information from these two organizations as well as access to SHAPE America & SHAPE Western District events. With that, SHAPE Idaho supports SHAPE America’s Health Moves Minds.

Publication:  SHAPE Idaho publishes an annual journal for members highlighting member success stories, Idaho Health and PE current events, Teacher of the Year winners, etc.

Recognition: SHAPE Idaho honors outstanding professional members annually with Teacher of the Year Awards and Outstanding Collegiate Student Awards. 

Networking: SHAPE Idaho is present on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter/X. Connecting with us on social media allows for a direct line to other members in your SHAPE Idaho community. Our professional development sessions, webinars, and conference are also a prime place for members to network with their peers.
