Frank Dea
A PE teacher at Alturas Elementary, Frank has held many leadership roles like Physical Education Department Chair, Think-Tank Coordinator, and Western Idaho Athletic Conference President. Frank has a B.S. in Physical Education From South Dakota State University as well as a Masters of Athletic Leadership from Boise State University. In his free time Frank enjoys all things outdoors like mountain biking, rafting, skiing, and backpacking.
Justin Harmon
Justin has a degree Physical Education with a K-12 Teaching emphasis and a minor in Health with a 6-12 Teaching emphasis. Justin also has his Master's in Educational Administration. Justin has been teaching for 12 years. This will be his 8th year at Connor Academy where he teaches 1st-8th grade P.E. With his duties as Past- President, Justin is excited continue to grow SHAPE Idaho!
Christi Meyer
Christi's career in Physical Education spans 36 years, most recently serving as Department Chair at Lewiston High School. Under Christi’s leadership, her department secured $200,000 of grant funding for implementing heart rate technology, an innovative fitness education learning platform, and fitness equipment to support their Comprehensive School Physical Activity Program. Since retiring from the Lewiston School District, Christi continues to advocate for quality physical education presenting at local, regional, and national conferences, consulting with other educators, mentoring student teachers for Lewis-Clark State College and the University of Idaho, and serving on SHAPE Idaho’s executive board. Christi was recognized as the Lewis-Clark State College Outstanding Teacher Educator of the Year and was named SHAPE Idaho’s High School Teacher of the Year in 2023. Christi enjoys live music, photography, travel, and outdoor adventures.
With a decade of service in education and coaching, Colin is a seasoned educator holding dual master’s degrees in Educational Leadership and Curriculum & Instruction. Colin has spent the past nine years as a Physical Education Specialist at Lena Whitmore Elementary School. His commitment shines through in his roles as an Administrator Designee, Mentor Teacher, and Genuine Quality Advisor. Colin has also been a pivotal figure in district and building leadership committees, developed comprehensive new teacher orientation programs, and actively contributes to both local and state-level educational conferences. Additionally, Colin is a former Division I Track and Field team captain whose coaching career ranges from Head Coach of Boys Track & Field and Assistant Coach in Cross Country. With his first year on the SHAPE Idaho Board, Colin is passionate about promoting goal setting, teamwork, and personal development.
Kyle Miller
Kyle Miller is currently an elementary physical educator in Twin Falls with a B.S. in K-12 Physical Education, BS in Sociology emphasis in Criminology with Minors in 6-12 Health Education and Coaching. Kyle has recently earned his Master's in Educational Leadership, all from The University of Idaho! In his spare time, he has coached both football and wrestling across the state and enjoys outdoor adventures with his family.
Callan is in this 14th year of teaching PE at AJ Winters Elementary School and is apart of the school's PBIS team. This is Callan's third year serving as southern representative. In his free time Callan enjoys camping with his family.
Melissa is the Director of the Wellness Center at Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho. She is passionate about empowering students to pursue lifelong well-being. Prior to assuming the role of Director, Melissa was a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Community and Public Health at ISU. She was selected as SHAPE Idaho’s Collegiate Educator of the Year in 2017. Melissa enjoys spending time with family, golfing, baking, and volunteering in her local community.
Heather is currently a Professor of Kinesiology in the Division of Physical, Life, Movement, and Sport Sciences at Lewis-Clark State College. Her interest areas include gender, sport, and the media. Heather holds a JD from the University of Idaho, a PhD from the University of Kansas, an MS from Humboldt State University, and a BS from Eastern Washington University. Heather has served on our SHAPE Idaho Board in a variety of positions for several years, but currently holds the position of Higher Education Representative.
Heather Bachman
Heather is currently working in the West Ada District as an Elementary PE teacher as a PE/Health academic consultant. Heather has been involved with AAHPERD/SHAPE for over 20 years and held positions in different leadership roles. She is also the Treasurer of the Society for Association Management. Heather and her husband love traveling with their cousins, riding their side by side, working on their property, and golfing.
Isabelle Statkus
Isabelle has a B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Writing from Eastern Oregon University where she also worked in game management and sport information in their athletic department. Additionally, Isabelle has a Master's of Physical Education & Athletic Administration from Idaho State University where she also worked as a Clinical Instructor in their Human Performance & Sport Studies Department. Isabelle initially served as the Social Media Coordinator for SHAPE Idaho starting in 2022, and has now taken on the role of Business Manager of both socials and the website starting August 2024.
